Silver Damma or Drachm coin of Chalukya dynasty, which ruled parts of what are now Gujarat and Rajasthan from 940 AD to 1244 AD. This coin is issued in the name of Rana Hastin, a Chalukya feudatory who ruled parts of Gujarat or Rajasthan sometime between 900 AD-1000 AD - making this coin over 1000 years old! At 0.45-0.50 grams, this is also among the smallest coins to be minted anywhere for general circulation. 

The obverse of the coin features an elephant walking to the right, within a dotted border. The reverse side has 'Shree Rana' and 'Hastin (elephant)' written in early nagari script. 

This is an EXTREMELY RARE coin, with a numista rarity value of 94. This coin is on sale on foreign websites for over Rs 3,500

These coins are among the best grades of this variety, with the figure of the walking elephant clearly visible.
