10 Rupees, HVR Iyengar, 1957-62
10 Rupee 'fafda' note signed by HVR Iyengar, the governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 1957-62. These notes were issued up to 1972 - but those with Iyengar's signature were issued only up to 1962. The reverse of the note carries a picture of a sail boat - a feature that continued in 10 rupee notes for nearly 40 years.
