1 Kori, Junagadh

Silver 1 kori coins of Junagadh Princely State, from 1235 AH to 1300 AH (Islamic calendar), corresponding to 1826 AD-1882 AD. Junagadh was a princely state in the Kathiawar region of Gujarat. Post independence, the Nawab of Junagadh wanted to merge with Pakistan, against the wishes of the population - forcing Indian government to act and hold a plebiscite. 

The front of the coin says "Shri Divan" in Devnagari. The reverse has the date as per Islamic Calendar and the alphabet 'Ba' in Devnagari - signifying the Babai dynasty which ruled Junagadh. 

These coins belong to 3 different rulers of Junagadh.
