Half Pice, East India Company, 1853

Copper Half Pice or half paisa coin minted in British India, bearing the name of the East India Company. These coins were minted in a single date - 1853. The obverse features the coat of arms of the East India Company - two lions holding up a shield with a third lion atop. The shield bears the cross of St. George. 

These coins are rarer compared to other copper coins of the period.
