Gold 1 Fanam coin issued by the Kingdom of Thanjavur (Tanjore) Marathas, a Maratha kingdom from 17-19th centuries in the South. The Kingdom was established by Venkoji, half brother of Shivaji in 1675, and came under British protection around 1799, and was annexed by the East India Company in 1855 when the last ruler died without a heir.
These coins have an image (part) of Goddess Kali on the obverse.
