1 Rupee, Lahore Mint, 1944, 1945
Two half silver 1 rupee coins in the name of George VI, minted in 1944 & 1945.
The coins were minted at the Lahore mInt - note the 'L' below the lotus on the reverse of the coin. The Lahore mint in British India started operations in 1944, and silver rupee coins were minted there just for 2 years - 1944 and 1945. Coins of Lahore mint are much rarer compared to coins from the Bombay mint.
The features of the coins are intact, and some of them still have original luster.
