1 Rupee, Lahore Mint, 1944
Silver 1 Rupee coin of British India, minted in 1944 in the name of George VI. These coins were minted in Lahore - note the 'L' below the lotus on the reverse of the coin. The Lahore mint in British India started operations in 1944, and silver rupee coins were minted there just for 2 years - 1944 and 1945. Coins of Lahore mint are scarce compared to coins from the Bombay mint. Within the two dates, 1945 is less common.
The features of the coins are intact, and some of them still have original luster.
