5 Mohru, Nepal, 1953-56
5 Mohru banknote of Nepal, printed from 1953-56 - this was the second series of Nepali banknotes. The obverse has the image of King Tribhuvan on the right in a plumed crown, and the watermark window with the King's image is to the left. While King Tribhuvan nominally reigned from 1911, when he was 5 years old, till 1955, his death, he ruled from 1951 onward - when the Rana family - who were powerful hereditary prime ministers, were deposed. The notes carry the signature of Narendra Raj, the treasurer. The reverse has an image of a tiger in a grassland. These notes were printed in Nasik Security Press.
