1 dollar, Australia, Queen Elizabeth II, 1982-84

1 dollar banknotes of Australia, issued from 1982-84, carrying the signatures of Robert Alan Johnston (RAJ) and John O Stone (JOS). The obverse carries a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to the right, and the coat of arms of Australia at the center. The reverse has Australian aboriginal art. Australia used the pound as currency till 1965, and moved on to the dollar in 1966. The first issues of the dollar had 'Commonwealth of Australia' written on the obverse, replaced by 'Australia' in this series.
