1 Dollar, New Zealand, 1989
1 Dollar banknote of New Zealand, 1985-89, part of the last banknotes of this denomination - these notes were subsequently replaced by coins. The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth, while the reverse features native fauna and flora of New Zealand, including the fantail - an insectivorous bird. New Zealand adopted the dollar as its currency in 1967, replacing the older dollar at the rate of 2 dollars = 1 pound. The dollar was a decimalized currency, unlike the pound that it replaced.
Size: 140 mm* 70 mm
