10 Rupee banknote of British India, issued in 1943, signed by CD Deshmukh - the first Indian to head the Reserve Bank of India. The note bears a front-facing portrait of a crowned King George VI to the right, and the watermark panel to the left. The governor's signature is just below the watermark window. The reverse has the image of a sailboat or a dhow - which was used up to the 1980s. The denomination, 'Ten Rupees', is mentioned in six Indian languages.
