100 Riyals, Iran, 1985-2005, Overstamp (Eid al Ghadir)

100 Riyal banknote of Iran, with an image of Ayatollah Sayyid Hassan Modarres, an Iranian religious leader and an influential politician, who had opposed Reza Shah Pahlavi, and was exiled and murdered (in 1937). The reverse carries the image of the Iranian parliament. 

These notes carry an over-stamp - done privately - congratulating people on the occasion of Eid Al Ghadir, an important holiday. Such over-stamps are done privately as gifts, souvenirs, or entry tokens for events like religious gatherings, pilgrimages, or commemorations.
