100 Rubles, Russia, accession of Crimea (2015)
100 Ruble banknote of Russia, printed in 2015 on the occasion of the accession of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol to Russia. One side of the note features important landmarks from the city of Sevastopol - including a monument to the city's defense during the Second World War. The other side features landmarks of the Crimean region, including the Swallow's Nest - a decorative castle located in the region. Crimea was originally a part of Russia, but was transferred to Ukraine in 1954 (when Russia and Ukraine were both parts of the Soviet Union). In 2014, Russia occupied Crimea after a regime change in Ukraine.
