3 Kopecks, Russian Empire, Emergency Money/Money Stamp
3 Kopeck emergency banknote or money-stamp issued by the Russian Empire in 1916, during World War I, when small value coins were in short supply due to the requirements of the war. The obverse of the note features a portrait of Tsar Alexander III, while the reverse features Russia's emblem - the double-headed eagle, along with the pronouncement that these notes had the same value as copper coins. These notes are made of thicker paper compared to stamps, as they had to be used multiple times. These were issued in sheets of 100 stamps/notes. Surviving examples are relatively few because of the material (paper) and low denomination.
Size: 29 mm* 24 mm
