5 Rubles, Imperial Russia, 1909
5 Ruble banknote of Russian Empire (1547-1917 AD), with a frozen date of 1909 - these notes continued to be issued till 1918 with the same date. The obverse carries the Russian emblem - crowned, double headed eagle on top, and text in Russian, that these notes are exchangeable for gold in any quantity. The reverse carries a shield - with an image of the double-headed eagle, and the crown on top. These notes have a vertical orientation, which is less common.
