50 Riyals, Iran, 1969-71

50 Riyal banknote of Iran, printed from 1969-71, during the reign of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. He was the second and the last ruler of the Pahlavi dynasty, which ruled Iran from 1925-1979, and was also the last King of Iran, replaced by the present Islamic government. The obverse features an image of Pahlavi, while the reverse features the Koohrang (Kharang) dam, a large water supply project in Iran. These notes went out of circulation after the Islamic Revolution of 1979, when the King Pahlavi was overthrown.
