Copper Nickel 2-paisa coin, equal to 1/50th of a rupee, minted from 1957-63. These coins were introduced after the decimalization of the Indian rupee, and this was the first time such a denomination was minted. These are round coins with a scalloped edge. This design was retained in the subsequent aluminum 2-paisa coins introduced later.
