Silver Two shilling or 1 Florin coin of United Kingdom, issued in the name of King George VI. These coins were 50% silver from 1939 to 1946, after which coins were issued in copper-nickel. A Florin was 1/10 of a pound and is one of the unique denominations of pre-decimal era British coinage. 

The obverse has the uncrowned head of King George VI, with his title (in latin). The reverse has a crowned Tudor rose representing England, a thistle bud to the left representing Scotland and a shamrock to the right, representing Ireland. 

The initials 'HP' can be seen on the neck of George VI - Thomas Humphrey Paget was the engraver who had designed the coin.
