5 Paisa, 1957-66
Copper nickel 5 naye paise (1957-63) and 5 paise (1964-67) coins, issued after decimalization. This was the first time this denomination was used in coinage. These are square coins with rounded corners - a shape subsequently retained by the lighter aluminum coins. These coins were minted at Bombay, Calcutta and Hyderabad mints.
