Set of 3 coins, 1, 2 & 3 Paisa
Set of 3 high grade aluminum coins of 1 paisa, 2 paisa and 3 paisa, minted in the 1960s and 1970s. These coins were minted after decimalization, so 1 paisa = 1/100 of a rupee. The three coins have a simple design - the denomination on one side, written in 2 languages (English and Hindi) and the Ashok pillar on the reverse. These three were the last coins to be minted in this denomination, and fell into disuse in the 1980s. While these coins were minted in large quantities - hundreds of millions, high grade specimens such as this are hard to find.
