Copper 2 pie (1/96 of a rupee) coins of the Princely State of Hyderabad. These were minted from 1904-11 during the reign of Mir Mahbub Ali Khan. The obverse carries the Tughra, or the stylized inscription of the Nizam, while the reverse has the value (2 pies). 1 pie was the smallest unit of currency in pre-independence India, and 3 pies were equal to 1 paisa. These coins, like other coins of Hyderabad, carry the date as per the Islamic calendar.
