Bronze 1 tanga Indo-Portuguese coin, for use in Goa, Daman & Diu, minted in 1952. This was a part of the last series of pre-decimal coinage used in Portuguese India. The tanga was equivalent to 1 anna, or 1/16 of a rupia. The obverse carries the coat of arms of Goa -  the five shields on Portuguese coat of arms, waves representing the sea/overseas colonies, and tower/fort representing Goa. The reverse carries the denomination. These coins were minted in Lisbon. Not to be confused with the 1947 tanga, which was larger - check picture 5.
