Silver rupee of the Princely State of Udaipur, minted in the name of Mughal emperor Alamgir II. These coins were issued from 1760-1767 AD. The mint mark of Mewar, a leaf (jhar) can be seen on the obverse. 

The kingdom of Mewar was the most energetic among Rajputs in resisting Islamic invasions. It capital, Chittorgarh, fell to invaders thrice, last in  1568 AD to Akbar when Udai Singh was the ruler. His son Pratap Singh is better known as Maharana Pratap. Mewar/Udaipur finally merged into the Indian union in 1948.
