Pakistan, Haj Issue

10 rupee Haj banknote of Pakistan, printed 1982. These notes were printed specially for use by Pakistani pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for Haj - and could be later exchanged for hard currency in Pakistan. The notes were not legal tender within Pakistan. The objective was to prevent outflow of hard currency - which would earlier happen via regular banknotes that were smuggled during the Haj. India had a similar Haj issue till 1962, which is much rarer. 

The obverse of the banknote has the portrait of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, while the reverse has an image of the ruins of Mohenjo-Daro.
