1 Dollar banknote of Bahamas, issued in 1992 commemorating 500 years (Quincentennial) of Christopher Columbus' voyage across the Atlantic and discovery of the Americas. The obverse has a portrait of Columbus to the right, and the coat of arms and symbols of the Bahamas to the left. The reverse has a map highlighting the island of San Salvador - where Columbus first landed in the New world in 1492.
