Silver rupee of the Maratha Confederacy, Chandor Mint. This coin is minted in the name of Shah Alam II, the Mughal Emperor, who was the notional overlord even as the Marathas were effective rulers of most of India. The obverse carries the name of Emperor Shah Alam, while the reverse carries the name of the mint. These coins were minted from 1760-1808 AD.
