Silver 1 Rupee coin of Mewar Princely State, with the name of Mughal Emperor Alamgir II. The sprig (herb) on the obverse of the coin is the mint mark of Udaipur. These coins were issued from 1760-1850 AD. 

The kingdom of Mewar was the most energetic among Rajputs in resisting Islamic invasions. It capital, Chittorgarh, fell to invaders thrice, last in  1568 AD to Akbar when Udai Singh was the ruler. His son Pratap Singh is better known as Maharana Pratap. Mewar/Udaipur finally merged into the Indian union in 1948.
