1/4 rupee silver coin minted in 1939 in the name of George VI. This is a full silver (0.917) coin - after 1939, full silver coins were withdrawn from circulation and were melted and replaced by half silver coins. As a result, these coins are rarer compared to other British India coins.
1/4 rupee coins of George V were first minted in 1939 - only proof coins were minted in 1938.
