10 billion dinara of the Republic of Serbian Krajina - a short lived and unrecognized, self-proclaimed ethnic Serbian entity in the modern state of Croatia. Serbia and Croatia were both part of Yugoslavia, a state formed in 1918. While Yugoslavia was not a part of the Eastern/Soviet bloc, it had a communist system and in 1990-92 period, its economy collapsed in parallel with the Eastern bloc. Constituent republics - Slovenia, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Bosnia & Herzegovina left the union in 1991-92. In 1991, ethnic Serbs living within Croatia (and other republics) sought autonomy, and declared their own republic. The Republic of Serbian Krajina was dissolved in 1995 and reintegrated into Croatia in 1995, after its territory was overrun by Croatian armed forces. This was followed by large scale migration of ethnic Serbs.

The obverse of the banknote features the Knin Fortress, a historical fortress in the capital of the republic. The reverse features the coat of arms of Serbia - a double headed eagle - a motif shared with Russia, and the older Byzantine Empire. These banknotes were printed during 1991-93 period, when Yugoslavia witnessed hyperinflation, and currency lost value in a matter of days, or weeks.
