100 Riyal banknote of Iran, printed in 1971, to commemorate 2500 years of Persian Empire. These notes were printed during the reign of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. He was the second and the last ruler of the Pahlavi dynasty, which ruled Iran from 1925-1979, and was also the last King of Iran, replaced by the present Islamic government. The obverse carries a portrait of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, while the reverse shows three different vignettes, showcasing health, agriculture, and education. This note was a part of celebrations of 2,500 years of the founding of the Achaemenid Empire by Cyrus the Great - and a way for Mohammad Reza Pahlavi to get legitimacy.
