3 dollars, Bahamas, Queen Elizabeth II, 1984

3 dollar banknote of Bahamas, printed in 1984. The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II towards the right, an outline map of the Bahamas in the center, and an image of people sunbathing on the left. The reverse has a image of sailing sloops, and the coat of arms of the Bahamas to the right. The denomination, 3 dollars, is unusual - it is more common in Eastern Bloc (aligned with the Soviet Union) countries, but Bahamas has had this denomination since the 1960s - when it moved from pound to the dollar. Bahamas maintains a 1:1 peg to the US dollar through a mix of forex reserves, exchange controls and other policies.
