Indo-Sasanian 1 Drachm of billion metal (impure silver) also called the Gadhaiya paisa of the Malwa region in Central India. These coins were used in the post Gupta period from 6-12 centuries. The obverse features the bust/head of the king, but highly simplified compared to the more intricate Sasanian coins. The reverse initially had a fire altar, as seen in Sasanian coins and Gupta period. However, the OM type coins have 'Omkar' in Devnagari script on the reverse. These coins were minted from 1200-1300 AD, approx by pre-Islamic dynasties.
