Silver one rupee coin of Jhalawar Princely State, minted from 1837-54, in the name of Mughal ruler Bahadur Shah. Jhalawar was carved out of the Kingdom of Kota in 1838 by the British to resolve a dispute between the ruler of Kota and a powerful hereditary regent. It was the 15-gun state. The obverse of the coin carries the name of the Mughal ruler, while the reverse carries the symbol of Jhalawar, a twig, and the regnal year.
