Satu Rupiah, Indonesia, 1956

Satu Rupiah, or one rupiah, banknote of Indonesia printed in 1956. The obverse features a young Javanese girl in traditional attire. The obverse is decorated with Indonesian Batik designs. The reverse features Indonesia's national emblem - Garuda Pancasila - the mythical eagle. The shield on Garuda's chest is divided into 5 parts, representing the five principles of Pancasila. Both the sides have guilloches - intricate, repetitive, and interlacing fine-line patterns commonly used in security printing to prevent counterfeiting.
